Synology releases DSM 4.0

Logo SynologyWe talked about DiskStation Manager 4.0 during the Consumer Electronic Show. Now the latest Synology’s firmware is officially released and you can download it from the company’s download center.

The manufacturer introduces some compelling features. The first, called Cloud Station, is a sort of private Dropbox that lets you sync folders across multiple PCs and devices. Morevoer, it’s now possible to connect Synology NAS to VLANs (Virtual LAN) and configure them as DHCP servers. Of course iSCSI LUNs are supported.

Both companies and private users will enjoy the features brought by the new DSM version. The beta has been downloaded over 90k times, there’s no reason to wait, go and update you NAS! And remember, protect your data no matter what!
