The GUI is really fast and the animations are smooth. First of all you need to set a password or anyone in your network will get access to your data.
The Settings area is clean and complete. It’s possible to configure the network settings, update the device, enable/disable the remote access, enable/disable the FTP server and much more. Western Digital made a good job.
My Book Live includes an iTunes server and the Twonky Media streaming service.
Furthermore it’s possible to configure and manage users and shares. The interface is intuitive and dummy-proof.
There’s even a page dedicated to backups. Western Digital includes its proprietary software called WD SmartWare. Obviously you can use any backup tool available for Windows, included our Uranium Backup.
