The importance of the mobile devices is growing faster than ever. Western Digital developed a series of Apps, for iPhone and iPad, to let you access to the media contents stored into the My Book Live. I tried WD Photos and WD 2 Go, both free.
Here are some screens. The two Apps are very similar.
Both require an activation code generated by the NAS. Without this key it’s impossible to connect to the drive.
That’s all. Now you can browse through the files (or the photos) and watch them on your smartphone. WD 2 Go doesn’t let you save any data while WD Photos makes you store your photos or videos on the NAS. I’d like to see more features on the mobile Apps, anyway this can hardly be a dealbreaker.
