WD working on external Thunderbolt device

Western Digital My Book Live DuoMac sales grown 26% during 2011. That’s a very good result considering that the PC market is shrinking. Western Digital doesn’t want to miss this opportunity and posted a press release about an external storage system powered by 2 hard disks and featuring Thunderbolt support.

Thunderbolt is an interface, developed by Intel and adopted by Apple (other manufacturers are coming), capable of 10Gbps of thorughput on each of two channels in both directions. On a high-end external storage device it lets you connect multiple devices and benefits of really impressive trasfer rates.

WD claims the product will be showed at the next Macworld/iWorld show. Its name will be My Book® Thunderbolt Duo.
